The SALOMON S/Lab Alpinway hiking shoes are built for technical alpine terrain, from steep scrambles to rocky ridgelines. Designed for full-day hikes on mixed and rocky ground, they balance precise foothold, strong protection and responsive feel.

Upper construction

The textile/synthetic upper uses a welded construction for a smooth, glove-like fit around the foot. SensiFIT™ links the upper to the lacing, cradling the midfoot for secure foothold on edges and uneven rock. A protective mudguard wraps the base of the shoe to help defend the lateral and medial sides from stones and trail debris.

Midsole & cushioning

A dual density midsole combines two foams to deliver softer cushioning under the rearfoot and a much stiffer, more precise platform at the front for edging and scrambling. A molded PU shank sits between midsole and outsole to add torsional rigidity and stability while keeping an agile, athletic feel.

Outsole & traction

The Alpine contaGRIP® outsole uses a lug pattern tailored to changing alpine terrain, with a climbing zone at the forefoot for grip and energy transmission on rock. This sticky rubber compound focuses on strong static friction and durable grip so you can move confidently over slabs, blocks and mixed trails.

Fit & sizing

The S/Lab Alpinway offers a regular-width fit with a supportive, precise hold for technical hiking. The quickLACE™ system allows fast, one-pull adjustment and easy on/off, helping you fine-tune tension for long days in the mountains.
