Specification before brand

With oil the specification comes first, not the price and not the brand.

• Viscosity: for example 10W-40, stated in the manual and tied to climate.
• Standard: JASO MA2 for a wet clutch, so the clutch does not slip.
• Two stroke: a separate oil with its own burn characteristics.

Choose chain lube for conditions: sticky holds on the road, dry attracts less dust off road. Brake fluid absorbs moisture and needs regular replacement even when it looks clean.
